field interpreters who cover appointments daily. We go the extra mile to help patients and providers communicate with non-English speakers.
Being an interpreter is not just about knowing both languages; it also involves being culturally aware of the non-English speaker’s customs and traditions, as well as demonstrating compassion and professionalism while maintaining confidentiality and ethical boundaries.

Nebraska Interpretation Services (NIS) has been providing interpretation services for almost eight years.
We would like to express our gratitude to our first clients, who entrusted us with assisting them and their patients, as well as to our dedicated interpreters who have accompanied us on this journey. Some of our interpreters have been with us since the beginning. Now, eight years later, our team of interpreters and clients has grown significantly. From just a handful of interpreters, we now have around 200 interpreters organized into teams according to their locations.
Clients in Omaha or Grand Island have asked us why we aren’t opening offices in those areas. The answer is simple: while we would love to open other office locations, and we may do so in the future, we currently manage requests effectively from our office in Lincoln. Most short-notice requests, those made within 24 hours, are usually fulfilled by local interpreters.
